Transverse V6s... Yeah, I get the hate now.

I also got to experience the joys of dropping a tool down into the engine bay. Wound up having to lift the car to wiggle said tool free.

Old plugs

Got Denso iridium plugs to replace my old plugs. After an annoyingly difficult process, the new plugs work! There’s certainly a noticeable increase in power now. Afterwards I went to the DAIRY QUEEN. Didn’t see any Camaros though.

Yeah, one day I stared into my engine bay and thought ‘My TL needs new spark plugs”. I looked at the front 3 and thought ‘easy’, then tried to see the back 3. I took it to Acura...

Doing the back ones was how I dropped my wrench as well as my pride.

I’ve got the plugs for the milan sitting in the garage...I’m waiting for when I want to commit an entire day to swapping out plugs (DOHC 3.0 stupid ass sideways V6) I have to take the upper intake manifold off to get to the rears.

Mine’s like this. The rear plugs are iridium and have a 100,000 km service interval.

No, I don’t do it myself. Yes, the guy who last did them and the cambelt a few years ago still vividly remembers the experience.

I did mine last weekend and promptly found out the tune on the ITR (done by the previous owners) was complete crap. It’s running lean right now, the old spark plug tips were completely pink and had some corrossion. I hate crappy car-owners....

I did it on my 3.0 powered Mariner. It’s a pain but at least it can be done with regular tools. No universal sockets needed.

True, but the Mariner has a bit larger of an engine bay....

I was actually under the hood of a 3.0 Mariner a couple weeks ago and my first thought was where the hell did all this room come from?!

I thought about buying a Traverse with a transverse V-6. Then I noticed there is no access to the rear spark plugs from the top. I asked the sales guy about replacing the plugs. He said step one is to drop the engine....

I didn’t buy a Traverse.
